The Bluff Lookout Rosetta Head, commonly known as ‘The Bluff’ in Victor Harbor is a popular destination for locals and tourists, especially during whale-watching season. Southern Right Whales can be seen from from The Bluff during June-October, and due to wintery weather, a public shelter and lookout would suitably provide protection from the elements.
The Bluff Lookout Once the location of a whaling station, the lookout pays homage to the history of the site in function and design inspiration. Materials emulate local granite rocks while form dictates differentiation. The design also preserves the iconic view of Victor Harbor, with the lookout positioned slightly west of the summit. While hidden from vehiclular view, the lookout stands as an obvious destination from the visitor carpark or for those on the walking trail to the top.
